Brief summary of R software, typical uses and information on campus user group.
R is programming language and free software commonly used by faculty and graduate students for statistical computing, analysis and graphics. It is also frequently used to generate data charts for publication. Code to run various types of analysis is widely available online and is freely shared among R users. The campus has a user group that meets to discuss topics around the R programming language and is called the Urbana-Champaign UseR group, or UC-UR for short.
