Active Directory, Special Authorizations
As part of the Active Directory service, there are several special authorizations for servers that can be performed, but require AD Admin approval.
DHCP Authorization
The preferred method is to use the Technology Services IP Management Service.
Legacy Windows-based DHCP servers require special authorization in Active Directory. To request this authorization, you must email the name of the AD computer account to adsupport@illinois.edu.
Network Policy Server (NPS) Authorization
Windows-based NPS (RADIUS, etc.) servers require special authorization in Active Directory. To request this authorization, you must email the name of the AD computer account to adsupport@illinois.edu.
Remote Desktop Services Server Authorization
Windows-based Remote Desktop Services Servers (formally Terminal Services) require special authorization in Active Directory by placement into a special domain-wide "Terminal Server License Servers" group. To request this authorization, you must email the name of the AD computer account to adsupport@illinois.edu.
NOTE: You are required to purchase a Remote Desktop Services client-access license (RDSCAL) from Webstore. (webstore.illinois.edu) This purchase should be complete before requesting authorization.
