VPN, Cisco AnyConnect, Cisco Secure Client, Failed to initialize connection subsystem

I get a message that says "Failed to initialize connection subsystem" when I try to connect to the VPN service. I try multiple times and it will eventually work. Do you have any idea why this occurs?

This appears to be related to a security update that is needed within Windows. Please run Windows Update and install the listed patches.
