Google Apps @ Illinois, Exporting Data Using Google Takeout

I'd like to make a copy of my data in Google Apps.

Google Takeout allows you to export data from your various apps within your Illinois Google Apps account. This makes it a great option for anyone who is leaving the University.

Supported apps include Google Drive, Google Contacts, and Google Reader. Google Sites is not included. This data can be imported into a different Google account.

  1. Log in to Google Apps with your NetID and password: https://takeout.google.com/settings/takeout

  2. Select which apps to export data from. All apps with data that can be exported by Google Takeout will be listed on this page.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Choose the file type and delivery method, then click create archive.

Please note this isn't instantaneous and it may take a long time to create.

Once you have your archive, it is up to you on how to import your data to other accounts. The article below will cover importing your email to another Gmail account.
