Webstore, Guide to understanding and using the store account order history
A customer's previous orders in WebStore are stored in their Order History.
Important assets and information about their order, such as installer downloads, instructions and links to license registration and activation forms and installation instructions are located there. When a customer completes an order in WebStore, they automatically land on their order history page as a confirmation of their order. Instructions and information about what to do next, whether you need to register the license, how to install the software and any download links and product activation codes are included on this page. When in doubt, look at the bottom of the page in the "Additional Details" section.
The Product Name on the order will contain the expiration date of the software license, if there is one. Customers who ordered an expiring licensed product from the previous year will receive an email notification from WebStore reminding them that their current software will expire unless they renew. There will be information and a link in the email to the renewal offer.
Any order that a customer has made in WebStore can be accessed again when a customer logs into their Webstore account. The link can be found on the left menu as shown below. When you click on the link, the Account Information page will open and a complete list of the customer's orders will show. Each order has a link to its own page, where the downloads and order details are stored.
***IMPORTANT!!!***
For perpetual licenses that do not expire, such as Cisco VPN, ESRI software, IT Pros packages and many others, when a new software version is released, WebStore will update the download links on an existing order to the newest version. This is part of the maintenance service WebStore performs in the background. You do NOT need to reorder the same license multiple times to obtain the newest version downloads. Customers can revisit their previous order and find the newest version downloads from their existing order.
More important info contained in the order details:
- Many orders, including license renewals, require the customer to fill out a registration form with information that WebStore staff will need to activate their license. The order details will contain a link to the form. The customer will not be able to use the software until the registration and activation process is complete.
- Older versions of the software that the customer has access to on request
- A link to the system requirements and other product documentation from the vendor
- Included educational perks, add-ons and memberships that come with the license
- Any limitations and restrictions on the educational license
- Installation instructions for the software
