This article describes how digital signage is integrated with Illini Alerts
As of June 1, 2018, the digital signage service is integrated with Illini Alert, using channels within FWi. These channels must be subscribed to each player individually by the service manager. If you are setting up a player and wish it to be subscribed to the emergency channel, please contact the service at email@example.com.
Currently, there are two subscriptions available: horizontal 16:9 and vertical 16:9. Digital signs of other aspect ratios will not be able to be subscribed at this time.
Digital signage players that are managed by departments will need to be joined to the UOFI domain and utilize a domain service account to access the network location where the emergency channel is deployed.
Tests of the Illini Alert system are conducted the first Tuesday of every month at 10:05 am. Those who manage digital signs that are subscribed to emergency channels should verify that their signs properly trigger during these monthly tests and report any inconsistencies to firstname.lastname@example.org.
