How can I understand more about COVID-19 testing and eligibility on the UIUC campus?

Getting Tested

The University of Illinois, at Urbana-Champaign is now performing its new rapid, saliva-based COVID-19 test

All university faculty, staff and students participating in any on-campus activities are required to participate in the on-campus COVID-19 testing program. An effective testing program is a crucial part of minimizing the spread of COVID-19. 


Q: Is there a cost for the test?

A: The test is free.


Q: Who is eligible for COVID-19 testing on campus?

A: Presently, the test is only available to current students, faculty, staff and retirees at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign who have active NetIDs


Q: Retirees are eligible?

A: Yes, retirees are eligible if they have an active NetID. At this time, there is no eligibility for a retiree without an active NetID.


Q: Where are the testing locations? 

A: A number of free on-campus COVID-19 walk-up testing locations are available.
