Teams, post migration troubleshooting
This document has been added temporarily for the migration to Teams from Skype for Business. It covers common scenarios you might face after being migrated.
Regardless of any problem you are having:
Log out of teams and log back in.
Close and re-open Outlook if you use the desktop application.
If you are using a 3rd party email application close and re-open it also.
My custom contacts and groups from Skype for Business are missing:
Microsoft advises that the moving of contacts can take up to 24 hours after a user first logs into teams after being migrated.
I have some duplicate or renamed contacts in Teams:
Teams tries its best to not duplicate or rename your contacts from Skype for Business, however the process is not perfect.
My calendar appointments are missing in Outlook:
Microsoft advises that the moving of calendar appointments/meetings can take up to 24 hours after a user first logs into teams after being migrated.
I received a large number of emails that were sent to my Inbox and my Deleted Items about past/present/future appointments/meetings, what are these?
As part of the migration, Teams converts all of your Skype meetings to Teams meetings.
In the event something went wrong with the conversion it creates an email record that you can access to Approve/Tentative/Deny for each converted meeting.
My call delegates and/or my call forwarding settings are gone:
Those settings need to be manually setup as they do not transfer from Skype to Teams automatically.
I am a call agent for a Call Queue but my settings do not indicate my membership:
Microsoft advises that being added to a call queue could take up to 8 hours for Individual users and group.
Microsoft advises that being added to a call queue could take up to 24 hours if a Teams Channel is being used.
The Call Queue agent lists are being populated ahead of time to prevent this from being an issue, but it still may come up.
My dial pad is missing from the calls app in teams:
After being migrated, the calls app will attempt to update after being selected. Switching to it the first time too fast will cause it to not load your dial pad.
Click a different app such as Calendar or Assignments then wait a few seconds, then click back to the calls app and your dial pad will appear.
