Here are some details to provide guidance when we enable SSO for users who access the airtable.com platform using an Illinois.edu email address

At 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3,, the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing, in collaboration with Technology Services, will enable Single Sign On (SSO) for all Airtable accounts registered with an @illinois.edu email address.

After this date, you will use your NetID and password along with Duo Multi-Factor Authentication to log in to Airtable.

What does this mean for me?

Requiring SSO for Airtable benefits both you and the university. This will reduce the number of passwords and usernames you have to remember and will better secure the university from cybersecurity threats. After logging in through SSO, there is no change to how you use Airtable.

If you share or use Airtable Workspaces or Bases with an email address that is not illinois.edu, they will not be impacted.

What action steps do I need to take?

When the change is made, you will automatically be logged out of Airtable and will see a pop-up. To log in again:

  1.  Select the "Sign In with Single Sign On."
  2.  In the new window, enter your full Illinois email address and select the Sign In button.
  3. A new window will load with the university wordmark asking you to select your account. Select your Illinois email address.
  4. Enter your NetID password.
  5. Confirm your identity through the Duo Multi-Factor Authentication prompt.
  6. Airtable will load and be ready for you to use.

What if I have questions?

If you have issues with SSO, visit the Identity Management, Urbana Single Sign-On support page.

If you still need assistance, contact the Technology Services Help Desk.
