Email, Unauthenticated SMTP for campus printers, web services, etc.
This page contains information about outbound-relays (aka Express-SMTP), an email service for on-campus IP addresses.
Who can use Outbound-Relays to send outgoing messages
Any computer, printer, web service or email client in the campus IP space, or on campus private IP space with NAT enabled can use Outbound-Relays to send outbound email messages. Note: If a network is opted out of NAT, it can no longer reach the outbound-relays address.
NOTE:
- Private IP spaces on campus (10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x, & 172.16.00-172.31.255.255) are no longer authorized to use outbound-relays.techservices.illinois.edu.
- The name express-smtp.cites.illinois.edu is a deprecated name that exists for legacy systems.
