Networking, Iris, Who Can Use Iris?

Introduction

Access to Iris is governed by the Iris Read/Write and Iris Read Only permissions in Contacts Database. Campus network administrators who are given these permissions for one or more networks can use Iris to view and/or edit:

• ports on those networks
• free ports on switches carrying those networks
• jacks wired to the CERs containing switches carrying those networks
  

Updates made to these permissions in Contacts Database will be automatically recognized by Iris within a few hours.

Gaining Iris access

To request Iris permissions on a network, talk to someone who already has the Change Contacts permission for that network model in Contacts Database. If you need help finding the appropriate person, contact the Technology Services Help Desk.
