I wish to add an RSS or HTML Macro to a page on the Illinois Wiki.
Unfortunately we are not able to make these tools available to Illinois Wiki users at this time due to security risks. The Confluence HTML plugin which allows for this functionality introduces the possibility for page editors to perform cross-site scripting attacks.
I'd like you to add a new macro to the wiki, and we only have 4 people on our team, so it shouldn't cost much.
When macro vendors quote prices, the prices they quote depend on the entire number of people who use that wiki platform, not the number of people within a given sub-space. So while there might only be 4 people in your particular space, the vendors will charge the University for a license of over 10,000 users, which frequently means costs ranging in tens of thousands of dollars per year -- in some cases, more than we're paying for the Wiki platform itself.
Because vendors require us to cover licensing for every user of the wiki, and because everyone at the University of Illinois is allowed to access the wiki (in addition to guest users who have been individually added), we will be in the most expensive tier available for nearly all macro licensing.
