ICS, Using Kumo in the Technology Services ICS
Instructions for setting up Kumo. The Kumo client is designed to map cloud storage as a local hard drive on an ICS Windows computer.
Using Kumo in the Technology Services ICS Labs
Kumo is a software client that allows you to map your cloud
storage (Box, Google Drive*, Dropbox*, OneDrive*) as a physical hard drive when
you are using an ICS Windows computer. Kumo is easy to setup and simple to use. Just
authorize your storage accounts, and they’ll show up just like a hard drive on
any ICS Windows lab computer station.
Important: Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox are not approved for the
storage of institutional data.
To get started, go to kumo.cites.illinois.edu and login with your campus credentials.
Choose the cloud solution storage you’d like to add and click
“Authorize.”
You’ll be asked to login to that account and you’ll authorize
Kumo to link to that account. Storage that you have already added has a green
checkmark.
Once you have authorized your cloud storage, this is what you
will see when you are logged into a ICS Windows workstation.
Kumo is not available for OS X or Linux and cannot be
used on personal computers.
If further assistance is needed you can stop in any
of the six ICS Labs and speak
with the Site Consultant.
