Kaltura - No content displays or error that requests have been blocked by an extension

Ad blockers and privacy add ons are causing issues with Kaltura

Kaltura - No content displays or error that requests have been blocked by an extension

We have received a report from a customer that Kaltura content will not display in Firefox or Chrome on a Mac, but the same content displays in Safari on the same laptop. Mediaspace displays as only text, no images or style sheets, and within Compass the error "Requests to the server have been blocked by an extension” displays. This could also occur on a Windows system but we have not seen it.

We believe that either/both AdBlock and Privacy Badger are causing issues with displaying Kaltura content. This could also be the case with other ad blockers/privacy add ons.

Recommended solutions include:
  • "Whitelisting"/mark as safe the Kaltura.com domains and the applications
  • Disable the add ons.
