Webstore, Guide to understanding and using the store account order history

For customers to understand and use the information stored in their Webstore account order history

A customer's previous orders in WebStore are stored in their Order History.

Important assets and information about their order, such as installer downloads, instructions and links to license registration and activation forms and installation instructions are located there. When a customer completes an order in WebStore, they automatically land on their order history page as a confirmation of their order.  Instructions and information about what to do next, whether you need to register the license, how to install the software and any download links and product activation codes are included on this page. When in doubt, look at the bottom of the page in the "Additional Details" section.

The Product Name on the order will contain the expiration date of the software license, if there is one. Customers who ordered an expiring licensed product from the previous year will receive an email notification from WebStore reminding them that their current software will expire unless they renew. There will be information and a link in the email to the renewal offer.

Any order that a customer has made in WebStore can be accessed again when a customer logs into their Webstore account. The link can be found on the left menu as shown below. When you click on the link, the Account Information page will open and a complete list of the customer's orders will show. Each order has a link to its own page, where the downloads and order details are stored.

***IMPORTANT!!!***

For perpetual licenses that do not expire, such as Cisco VPN, ESRI software, IT Pros packages and many others, when a new software version is released, WebStore will update the download links on an existing order to the newest version. This is part of the maintenance service WebStore performs in the background. You do NOT need to reorder the same license multiple times to obtain the newest version downloads. Customers can revisit their previous order and find the newest version downloads from their existing order.

Sections in the WebStore order give general information about the date of the order, the payment amount and method, and the shipping address. If there are downloads included in the order, they will be located here as well. (If you do not see download buttons like in the image above and think you should, try viewing the order in a different browser.)
***Please note that there are orders that DO NOT include downloads because the downloads will be accessed from the software vendor directly. Usually the customer needs to create an account at the vendor website, authenticate in some way and will find the downloads in their customer account at the vendor website.
WebStore orders also contains the installation key or code for your product if it is applicable. Installation keys or codes can be found in the blue box or the Additional Instructions textbox below. Every order for a product should contain specific instructions for the customer on how to activate the product or their customer account. If a customer has questions after reviewing the information included in their order page, there is a link to a support request that will be sent to WebStore staff at the bottom of the page.

More important info contained in the order details:

  • Many orders, including license renewals, require the customer to fill out a registration form with information that WebStore staff will need to activate their license. The order details will contain a link to the form. The customer will not be able to use the software until the registration and activation process is complete.
  • Older versions of the software that the customer has access to on request
  • A link to the system requirements and other product documentation from the vendor
  • Included educational perks, add-ons and memberships that come with the license
  • Any limitations and restrictions on the educational license
  • Installation instructions for the software
