Zoom: Using PowerPoint in Presenter Mode

Covers how to share your PowerPoint slides and still see your presenter notes when screen sharing in Zoom

Presenter Mode on Zoom on Mac

  1. Open the PowerPoint you want to present.

  2. Select the Slide Show tab.

  3. Select Set Up Slide Show.

  4. Under “Show type,” select Browsed by an individual (window), then OK.

  5. Start the Zoom meeting.

  6. Select Share Screen > Microsoft PowerPoint (just the app located on the "Basic" tab) > Share.

  7. In PowerPoint, select Presenter View.

  8. In Zoom, the menu at the top center of your screen should offer a new option in green: New Share. Select New Share, then Microsoft PowerPoint – PowerPoint Slide Show. (there may be multiple Microsoft PowerPoint options, but you will want to select the one that shows an image of the screen with just the PowerPoint slide on it), then click Share.

  9. You should now be able to see the presenter view on your screen and everyone you are sharing your screen with will just see the current slide you are on.

 

Presenter Mode on Zoom on Windows

  1. Open the PowerPoint you want to present.

  2. Start the Zoom meeting.

  3. Select Share Screen > Microsoft PowerPoint (just the app located on the Basic tab) > Share.

  4. In PowerPoint, select From Beginning or From Current Slide from the toolbar along the top of the page. You can also select the slide show icon from the lower right corner.

  5. Hover over the lower left side of the screen until you see a menu of options appear. Select the last option (with three dots), then select Show Presenter View from the list.

  6. You should now be able to see the presenter view on your screen and everyone you are sharing your screen with will just see the current slide you are on.
