What to do if you receive an "application error"?

A common issue when students are trying to upload from Mediaspace/Kaltura to Canvas is that they receive an "Application Error" message, like the one pictured below. Usually this is a very simple fix- follow these steps to resolve the issue.

  1. If you receive this error message when trying to add media from Kaltura/Mediaspace, you most likely need to authorize the Kaltura Scoped Key. To do so, first locate "My Media - Kaltura at Illinois" in the sidebar of your Canvas page. This should be located above the "Help" shortcut, on the left side of your Canvas page, as pictured below. Select this shortcut.
