The Cabinet Control Panel in Classroom 126 is built into the instructor's desk and is located on the right-hand side. This control panel is a touchscreen, and it may take a moment for your touch inputs to register. It's very important to wait a few seconds between touches to allow the system to respond. 

*Important: Do not manually pull down the projector screens as this may damage the screen. The screen will automatically lower after you select a Video Source on the home screen. By default, only Projector B will turn on. Please see our section "Using Both Projectors" below for steps on using both projectors at once.

Home Screen Controls Overview

• • Use a Laptop: The room's audio and video connect to the laptop plugged in via HDMI/USB-C. 
  • Use a Built-in PC: A selection will appear allowing you to choose either a Mac or Windows interface.
  • Use the Blue-Ray/DVD Player: The room's audio and video connect to the Blue-Ray/DVD player. 
  • Dual Projection: Allows you to use both projectors to mirror/extend the computer screen. 
  • Audio Only: Adjust various audio settings for the room and the currently selected device. 
  • Service Mode: In-depth control settings for equipment that is not working properly or needs independent adjustment. 

Physical Side Buttons Overview

• • System Off: Turns the system on and off. 
    • Pressing this when the system is already off will cause Projector B to turn on and the screen to lower from the ceiling.
  • Online Mic On: Mutes and unmutes the overhead room microphones.  
    • Tip: When the room is powered on, the microphones are muted by default. Press this button to unmute them. A blue light on the mics means they're on, and red means they're off. 
  • Controls to Mac: Re-syncs the room's equipment (cameras, microphones, keyboard, and mouse) to the built-in Mac computer.
  • Controls to Windows:  Re-syncs the room's equipment (cameras, microphones, keyboard, and mouse) to the built-in Windows computer.
  • Controls to Laptop: Connects the room's cameras and microphones to the plugged-in laptop via USB.
  • Custom Lighting: Manually adjust the lighting capacity in the room.
  • Lights High: 100% room light capacity. This is optimal for lecture settings.
  • Lights Medium: 75% room light capacity.
  • Lights Low: 50% room light capacity.
  • Lights Dimmed: 25% room light capacity.

1. On the Cabinet Control Panel, select "Use a Built-in PC"
2. Select either Mac or Windows from the selection that appears on the monitor.
   • If nothing appears, make sure the monitor is turned on. 
3. The room's equipment (cameras, microphones, keyboard, and mouse) will automatically sync, giving you full control over the devices. 
   • If the equipment doesn't seem to connect, resync it by pressing either the "Controls to Mac" or "Controls to Windows" button, based on the one you selected. 
4. The Cabinet Control Panel's screen will change to the Audio Mixer Screen, where you can adjust the audio settings for the room and the currently selected device.

Classroom 126 is the only iSchool room that can fully connect the room's equipment to a laptop. This enables the connected laptop to use the room's projectors, speakers, cameras, and microphones. 

Connecting the Laptop to the Room

1. Find the HDMI/USB-C cable labeled "For Laptops" and the cable labeled "Cameras" on the instructor's desk.
2. Connect the cables, with or without their adapters, to your laptop.
3. On the Cabinet Control Panel's touch screen, select "Use a Laptop" and "HDMI".
4. On the Cabinet Control Panel's side buttons, press "Controls to Laptop" found on the bottom left-hand side. 
5. The Cabinet Control Panel's screen will change to the Audio Mixer Screen, where you can adjust the audio settings for the room and the currently selected device.

Choosing the Correct Laptop Settings

1. Launch a Zoom meeting on your laptop.
2. Select the upwards arrow next to "Audio" on the bottom left of your screen to expand the audio settings. 
3. Under "Select a microphone", click "Microphone (2-Converge USB)".
4. Under "Select a speaker", click "PT-RZ570 (3- HD Audio Driver for Display Audio)".
5. Select the upwards arrow next to "Video" near the bottom left of your screen to expand the video settings. 
6. Under "Select a camera", click either of the "PTZ Pro 2" options based on which room camera you prefer. 
   
   • If you don't see either camera option, make sure the USB "Cameras" cable is securely connected to your laptop. 

***After finishing all the above steps, we recommend testing to make sure the settings were applied correctly by clicking "Test speaker & microphone..." in the expanded audio settings from step 2. 

There are two projectors in Classroom 126. Projector A is closer to the entrance while Projector B is further from the entrance. By default, only Projector B will turn on, and its screen will lower after selecting a video source on the Cabinet Control Panel.

To use both projectors, return to the Home Screen on the Cabinet Control Panel and press "Dual Projection" on the screen. The boxes in "Projector A" and "Projector B" control which device will be projected on each of the respective screens. Press one of the following that you would like to see on each screen:

• Mac: Displays the Mac from the built-in PC. 
• Windows: Displays the Windows from the built-in PC.
• HDMI: Displays the device hooked up to the HDMI cable.
• Wireless: Displays the device wirelessly connected via Apple TV.
• B-Ray: Blu-ray is no longer supported in the room.
• Display Mute: Turns off the projector.

The boxes in "Monitor Audio" control which device uses the room's audio. Note that the device you choose will also display on the built-in PC. The built-in PC can still be used if you are using the audio from another device, but you will have to look at whichever projector screen it is displaying on for navigation.

The Audio Mixer screen lets you adjust audio settings for the room and the currently connected device. The Audio Mixer screen will appear on the Cabinet Control Panel after selecting either the Laptop, Built-in PC, or Blue-Ray/DVD Player as the video source. You can also launch the Audio Mixer screen by pressing "Audio Only" from the Cabinet Control Panel's homescreen. Below you will find an overview of what each slider controls. 

Slider Controls Overview

• Master: Overall volume of the room. 
  • This can also be adjusted using the center knob below the screen. There may be a bit of lag while the system registers and responds to the adjustments. 
• Computers/Blue-Ray/DVD: Audio for a connected laptop or the Blu-Ray/DVD Player.
• Podium Mic: Microphone on the podium (muted by default).
• Microphone 1: Handheld microphone labeled "1".
• Microphone 2: Handheld microphone labeled "2".
• Microphone 3: Handheld microphone labeled "3".
• Microphone 4: Handheld microphone labeled "4".
• Aux: Any speaker that's plugged into the aux cord below the cabinet on the left-hand side. 
  • Normally, there's nothing connected here, and there won't be a need to adjust this slider. 
• Mute: This button is found to the right of each of the above device controls and will mute that specific device.
  • An orange "Mute" button indicates that the device is muted.
  • The "Mute" button right of the "Master" slider will mute and unmute everything all at once. 
  • Please allow the system a few seconds to register and respond to the adjustments.  

Ceiling Microphones:

We recommend using the ceiling microphones during hybrid Zoom meetings so the audio in the room can be heard by remote participants. 

The ceiling microphones are the two white rectangular panels suspended from the ceiling. They are positioned on the left and right sides of the room above the seating rows. A blue light on the panel indicates it's on, and a red light indicated i'ts off. By default, they will be off. To unmute them, press the physical "Online Mic On" button on the left side of the Cabinet Control Panel. 

Podium Microphone:

The podium microphone is used to project the presenter's voice to the room's speakers. By default, it will be muted. To unmute it, press the orange "Mute" button next to the "Podium Mic" volume slider on the screen of the Cabinet Control Panel. Please allow the system a few moments to register and respond to the adjustment. 

Wireless Microphones:

The wireless microphones are to project the user's voice to the room's speakers and are stored on top of the cabinet on the left-hand side. When using the wireless microphone, the battery pack will need to be turned on. Allow the microphone a few moments to connect to the system. Please remember to turn off the battery pack after you are done. 

The volume on the microphones won't typically need to be raised. Generally, the volume needs to be lowered if you can hear yourself through the room's speakers. We recommend turning on the microphone and checking with participants sitting towards the back of the room to see if the volume needs to be adjusted. 

The wireless microphones often run low on battery. Replacement nine-volt batteries can be found in the cabinet's top shelf under the monitor. If there are no replacement batteries, please stop by the front desk for more or call the iSchool Help Desk at 217-244-4903 or 800-377-1892.

There are two Logitech cameras located at the front of the room and are controlled using the Logitech remotes found on the cabinet/desk area. To use a remote, point it towards its corresponding camera and either manually adjust the view with the arrows/magnify buttons or use the numbered preset camera positions.
