Zoom: Recording for MediaSpace

A guide to recording in zoom for upload to MediaSpace

NOTE: Make sure that you are using the most recent version of Zoom to ensure that the information in these pages matches what you see. This documentation from Zoom explains how to check for updates. After updating, restart your computer.

If you don't have a video recording program on your computer you're comfortable with, you can use Zoom as a recording studio. Once your recording is complete, you can use Illinois Media Space to trim the video so don't worry if your recording has dead air before and after your presentation.

For the best experience, always update your Zoom software and restart your computer before using Zoom.

Please note that there is a processing period after recording and after editing that can last for several hours. Plan accordingly.

Your video will have a frame used as the thumbnail (the image you see before the video is played). If desired, you can change this thumbnail to a more flattering or professional thumbnail.
