Room technology instructions for B20 in Gage Park: room displays, microphone, camera.

This rooms is "BYOD" - Bring Your Own Device. There are cable connections at the podium and a control panel on the wall that allow you to display content on the wall monitors and use the mic & camera to video conference.

To Turn the Room On

  1. Touch the Control Panel on the wall to brighten it from sleep mode.
  2. Press anywhere on the Control Panel screen to turn the room on.

To Turn the Room Off

  1. Press the Power icon in the top right corner of the Control Panel.
  2. Select "Yes, Shutdown" to confirm you want to turn off the room.

To Display Content from your device

  1. Turn the Room on.
  2. Connect the HDMI cable at the podium to your device. If your device does not have an HDMI port, use the USB-C adapter to connect.

  3. At the Control Panel, select "Video Presentation" to bring up the source selections
  4. Choose "Podium HDMI" to show the device connected to the podium HDMI cable on the wall monitors.
  5. Turn the room off when finished.

To Share Sound in the room from your device

  1. Turn the Room on
  2. Connect the USB cable labeled "Audio Laptop" at the podium to your device. If your device does not have a USB port, use the USB-C adapter to connect.

  3. On your device, select the "TesiraFORTE" or "Echo Cancelling Speakerphone" speaker or Audio Output option.
  4. Verify that both your application playing the content (like YouTube) and your device have volume turned UP.
  5. Adjust room volume on the Control Panel using the top volume control.
  6. Turn the room off when finished.

To Connect Microphones to your device

  1. Turn the Room on
  2. Connect the USB cable labeled "Audio Laptop" at the podium to your device. If your device does not have a USB port, use the USB-C adapter to connect.
  3. On your device, select the "TesiraFORTE" or "Echo Cancelling Speakerphone" microphone or Audio Input option.
  4. Verify that your application using the microphone (like Zoom) has the microphone unmuted and turned UP.
  5. Adjust room volume on the Control Panel using the top volume control.
  6. Adjust microphone volume on the Control Panel using the "Mic Control" page on the left side, and the microphone level adjustment there.
  7. Turn the room off when finished.

To Connect the Camera to your device

  1. Turn the Room on
  2. Connect the USB cable labeled "Camera Control" at the podium to your device. If your device does not have a USB port, use the USB-C adapters to connect.
  3. In the application you are using (like Zoom), select the "HD Camera" room camera.
  4. Unmute/turn on the camera in your application.
  5. Adjust the camera direction at the Control Panel using the "Camera Control" button on the left and the control buttons on that page.
  6. Turn the room off when finished.

Troubleshooting FAQ

  1. I can hear myself in the room but no one on Zoom (or Teams, WebEx, GoogleMeet, etc.) can hear me!
    • Make sure the cable is connected to your device.
    • Make sure the mic is not muted in your application.
    • Make sure "Privacy" is not red on the Control Panel page for Video Presentation.  
  2. I can't connect a camera.
  3. My laptop isn't playing audio (music, videos, Zoom) in the room!

  • three wall displays (coordinated - all show the same content at once)
  • one microphone at the podium
  • one camera directed at the podium
  • speakers throughout with in-room voice lift (the microphone can be heard in the room and on a video conference)
  • cables at the podium to show content to the room, and to connect microphone and camera for video conferencing
