Classrooms - AV - Audio/Camera instructions for auditoriums

Video conference settings in these auditoriums: MBRB 1017, NPI 765, Moss COMRB 1020, CMWT 106, CMWT 220, CMWT 227, CMWT 429, CMWT 527.

This auditorium includes a camera mounted on the wall directed at the podium/front of room to allow for remote viewers to see a presentation being given in the room. The microphones are also connected to the podium system and can be used for video conferencing on the PC provided.

Playback Device (Speakers / Room Audio)

The device used for video conferencing should send audio to the room for the presenter and in-person attendees to hear.

  1. Use the Speaker icon in the bottom right PC system tray

    to see audio output options.

  2. Select "speakerphone"

    to hear content from the PC in the room. This might be labeled "Echo Canceling Speakerphone" or "Tesira Forte Speakerphone" or something similar.

  3. Turn this audio choice up to 100%.
  4. Control room volume using the touch control panel on the podium.

  5. If you are video conferencing, select the same mic/speaker in Zoom or other video conferencing platform as shown on the PC in step 1.

Microphone

The room microphones include all microphones in the space, including puck mic on the surface of the podium and both handheld and lav mics for best audio quality on a video conference call.

  1. Open Zoom or any other video conferencing platform

  2. The microphone choice should match the playback device selected in the instructions above.

Camera

The room camera will show the front of the room and to allow a presenter to face the in-person audience and be facing the camera to the extent possible.

  1. Open Zoom or any other video conferencing platform

  2. Select the room camera

    in the video settings for your application
  3. Verify room camera is showing in your meeting

Remember to log out of any video conferencing software and other services (Zoom, email, Box, etc.) when finished at the podium.

LAPTOP

Three cables are available for laptop use at each podium: USB-A, HDMI, and Ethernet, when using a laptop.

An adapter dongle is provided to convert these to USB-C.

  1. Connect the USB-A cable for audio and camera connections to the classroom.

  2. AUDIO: Select "speakerphone" for both microphone and speaker on your laptop.

    Mac: "Sound" control can be accessed in your "Settings"

  3. CAMERA : In Zoom or other video conferencing app, select the room camera.
