2FA, How do I know if I have Duo Push configured?

Duo Push is the recommended way to use 2FA if you have a smartphone. This document explains how to check if Duo Push is configured and how to test Duo Push to ensure it is working. Having the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone does not imply that Duo Push is working, so it is a good idea to test in case you need to reactivate Duo Push. If you have a new smartphone since the last time you used Duo Push, you may need to reactivate the Duo Mobile app.

  1. Verify you have the "Duo Mobile" app installed on your smartphone. Click here for help downloading the Duo Mobile app to your smartphone.
  2. Log into the NetID Center and choose "Manage my 2FA".  At the 2FA authentication screen, you should have the option to Send me a push.  If you do not see this option, add your smartphone as a 2FA device.  Then activate the Duo Mobile app to work with 2FA.

  3. Test Duo Push by choosing the Send me a push option from the 2FA Authenticate screen. If you do not receive an alert on your smartphone to accept the 2FA request, you must reactivate the Duo Mobile app.
  4. If you have any questions, please contact the AITS Service Desk using one of these options.
