Research, Technology Services IT Resources and Support

Technology Services is UIUC's central IT organization, providing campus-wide computing, networking, and instructional support for faculty, staff, and students. Below are details on their support capabilities related to campus research.


The Research IT Portal is a one-stop solution for researchers and those who support research to efficiently and effectively find, access, and utilize technology resources, services, training, and support. The portal has been developed in response to the need identified across campus to connect researchers to resources.


The Privacy and Cybersecurity Team works with students, faculty, staff and researchers to protect and secure information, research, and individual privacy. They enable access to software and systems that help the University run. They invest in tools that maintain the integrity of information, networks and devices. Team members provide both emergency and non-emergency support for cybersecurity issues. Relevant links are featured below.


The Answers KnowledgeBase (KB) is a platform for easily creating, displaying, sharing, and managing web-based knowledge documents. Examples of research-related content are featured below.
