Box, How to Enable Box Edit and Box Tools

If Box Tools for Office or Box Edit are not available or grayed out, below is the solution to enable these.

If you are missing the ability to edit office files from within Box or the options are grayed out within the interface, then you most likely need to enable the features for your Box Account.

You can enable these features by 
  1. Log into Box.
  2. Click your user icon (initials) at the top right and click App center from the drop-down OR visit https://uofi.app.box.com/app-center
  3. Search for the Box integration that you are missing. Popular options include Box Edit, Box for Office, and Box for Office Online.
  4. After clicking to Add an integration, you may be prompted to install plugins on your local machine to make these integrations work. Please follow the instructions to enable them.
