Teams Cutover: Common Area and Service Phones
IP phones will need to be logged back in after the cut-over to Teams. The user will select a login option on the IP phone, then be directed to a website where they will enter the resource account name and resource password. Entering the correct info on the web portal, will activate and log the phone into the account. See further instructions on logging into Yealink IP phones in KB Teams: Log into Yealink IP Phone.
The following preparation is required prior to cut-over:
- Know which resource account each phone in your lab or service area is logged into.
- Know the resource account user name.
- Know the resource account's password.
IT@Vet Med has some resource account passwords recorded in a password manager, but not all. If the lab or service does not know the password, then IT will reset the password in advance of the cut-over event so it is known for the cut-over evening. If the lab or service does know the password, IT will document it and the password can remain unchanged.
Services and labs are encouraged to log into their own IP phones after cut-over if possible because there are over 200 IP phones in the College. However, IT and a small team of departmental staff will be attempting to login as many of the phones as they can and assisting individuals that need help.
Note for Techs: Common Area Phones (CAP) accounts and Role-based Resource Accounts are setup differently. CAP accounts will have to be converted to Role-based user accounts in the AD, so the resource account name will change for CAP accounts at time of cutover.
