Adobe, Creative Cloud, Uninstall on Windows and macOS

How to completely remove the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite from your computer using the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool.

Before you start

Save your work in the Adobe apps that you have opened and ensure the project files are saved to a secure location. If you are syncing files in your Adobe account, follow the instructions here to check the sync status. Afterwards, close all Adobe apps.

Save your work in other software, browser, emails, etc. You will be asked to restart the computer later.

Sign out of Adobe Creative Cloud

Windows

On Windows, open the Start menu, type in "Creative Cloud" and open "Adobe Creative Cloud"

Select your profile picture in the top-right corner of the app and select "Sign out" at the bottom

macOS

On macOS, press Command Space, type in "Creative Cloud" and open "Creative Cloud"

Select your profile picture in the top-right corner of the app and select "Sign out" at the bottom

Select "Creative Cloud" in the left corner of the macOS menu bar and select "Quit Creative Cloud"

Download the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool

Go to this website, choose your operating system and select "Download"

Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool

Windows

Locate the downloaded file, right-click on it and select "Run as administrator"

In the command line window, type "e" and press "Enter" to choose the English language

To acknowledge the Adobe End User License Agreement, type "y" and press "Enter"

To make a clean uninstall, type "1" and press "Enter"

Type the number that corresponds to "Clean All" and press "Enter"

To confirm the uninstall, type "y" and press "Enter"

After the uninstall finishes, press "Enter"

Restart your computer now

macOS

Locate the downloaded file and double-click it to open

In the "CleanerTool" pop-up window, double-click "Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool"

To acknowledge the Adobe End User License Agreement, select "Accept"

Select "Clean All"

In the "Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool Alert" pop-up window, select "Yes"

The cleaner tool will complete and might leave a "Fix Host File" option. Please ignore this.

Select "Quit" to exit the tool

Restart your computer now
