UI New Hire - Login and password assistance
New employees having trouble logging into UI New Hire should follow the guidance below. Talk to your department HR representative if you're still stuck.
This document also provides guidance to departmental HR for assisting their new employees with logging into UI New Hire. Department HR staff should contact their central university HR office for help with UI New Hire.
UI New Hire Password Tool for Help Desks
This tool is for help desks to assist newly hired employees with their login to UI New Hire. It allows you to send a password reset if they forgot their password, view their UI New Hire login IDs (sometimes it's their UIN, sometimes not), and view the date when their access to UI New Hire will expire.
Getting tool access: Ask your USC to email AITS System Access Management including the business justification. Include the UIN and NetID of the employee needing access to the tool. They will add you to the LDAP group called NewHirePwdResetUsers.
For new employees
A Login ID is required to access the UI New Hire system. Your Login ID will be provided to you by your department Human Resources representative or your university HR office. It is important to note that this Logon ID is different from your NetID.
If you know your Login ID but your password is not working, go to the UI New Hire login page and click Forgot your password?
Your Login ID and password will expire 60 days after your hire date.
For further assistance logging into UI New Hire, you should contact your department HR representative.
For department HR staff
UI New Hire passwords can be reset for new employees using HR Front End within 60 days of when the UI New Hire account was set up. To reset a UI New Hire password for a new employee:
- Log into HR Front End
- Select the New Hire Forms tab and you will see a link titled "Reset New Hire Password".
- When selecting this link, the New Hire Reset Password will open in a new window. You will need to provide the Logon ID, which is available from the New Hire Forms tab, select Search and then the fields in the Data section will populate.
- Once this information is present, select Reset Password and the new password will be visible on the screen and an email will be generated to the email addresses that are listed within the Data section. It should be noted that the fields in the Data section cannot be updated here. If you would like to edit these fields you can update them on the New Hire Forms tab, select Save, prior to selecting Reset New Hire Password
