View Direct - DOCDIR - Adobe Acrobat Reader - Size of Page

I am having a problem viewing PDFs in View Direct, also known as "Blue" reports or "statements".
I would like reports to appear larger in the right-hand pane of the application.

To resolve the display zoom on the right-hand pane of your screen:

  1. Please open your version of Adobe on your computer by going down to START, ALL PROGRAMS, and selecting ADOBE READER or ADOBE PROFESSIONAL X.X.X.
  2. Once ADOBE loads on the your machine, go to the EDIT menu and select PREFERENCES.
  3. On the PREFERENCES Dialog Box, find the section referring to ZOOM or DEFAULT LAYOUT AND ZOOM.
  4. Depending on the your preference, set it to 90% or 100%. 90% might be the preferred recommendation for use with other applications. By making this change in Adobe versus View Direct it should hold these settings for you, assuming you have the appropriate permissions on your machine to change these settings.

Two words of caution - This will increase the size of all pages that use Adobe -- such as EDDIE. This is not a problem since you can decrease the size of the page when you are in EDDIE. Another possible issue is that when you use the Adobe print icon and use CURRENT VIEW in View Direct it will try and print the enlarged size -- which is too large for the page. The best thing is just to leave the default to ALL when printing. It will always just print one page; due to the fact Adobe only grabs one page at a time in View Direct.

The advantage: Several users have complained that every time they go to the next page in View Direct they have to change the page size. This fix will stop this. When checking the month end reports, to not have to continually change the page size saves quite a bit of time.
