Banner: Error: FRM-40010: Cannot Read From GUAINIT.FMX

User sees error when logging into Banner. Error is: frm-40010: cannot read from guainit.smx
Symptom: if user closes all browser sessions. Clears their temporary internet files. User gets in. Closing a second time and logging in reveals error. Clear again and they get in. Repeat.

Be sure to check the following Internet Explorer setting before clearing browser caches (temporary internet files). 

Check all settings for Internet Explorer. 

Trusted site should be *.uillinois.edu
Open Internet Explorer
Click Tools>>Internet Options
Click Security Tab
Click Trusted sites (green check mark)
Click Sites button
Enter: https://*.uillinois.edu
Click Add
Click Close
Click OK

Popup blockers must be turned off or trusted to *.uillinois.edu
Open Internet Explorer
Click Tools>>Internet Options
Click Privacy Tab
Click Settings button
Enter: *.uillinois.edu
Click Add
Click Close
Click OK

Additional Settings:
Open Internet Explorer
Click Tools>>Internet Options
Click Settings button
Select Every Visit to the Page

Open Internet Explorer
Click Tools>>Internet Options
Click Advanced Tab
Scroll to Security Heading
Select Allow active content to run in files on My Computer (Turn ON)

Open Internet Explorer
Click Tools>>Internet Options
Click Settings button (under browsing history)
Click View Objects
This opens the Downloaded Program Files window.
Remove all damaged or Unknown programs (usually has a long GUID OR SID for the name of program) by right clicking and choosing remove
