NetID, Annual NetID Password Expiration
Your NetID password expires once a year. You can update your password with the Password Manager and security questions, in person at the Help Desk, or with a password registrar. Mac users may also need to update Keychain information.
For security purposes, Technology Services requires you to change your NetID password at least once a year.
After a year, your NetID password will expire. A few weeks before
your password expiration date, you will be notified by email multiple times.
You can change your NetID password with the Password Manager.
If you allow your NetID password to expire, you will not be able to access any of the services that require it.
Changing an expired NetID password
If you have allowed your NetID password to expire, you can reset it in three ways:
- Online: If you have set up your recovery options, you can use them to reset your NetID password with the Password Manager.
- In person: Bring a photo ID to the Technology Services Help Desk.
- Within your department: If your department or unit has a password registrar (that is, someone authorized to set or reset passwords), you may contact that person for assistance.
If you have any questions or problems, please contact the Technology Services Help Desk, (217) 244-7000, firstname.lastname@example.org, or in person at 1211 DCL.
