Identity Management, Requirements for Acceptable Passwords
This page contains the rules for setting an acceptable password.
The rules for setting a NetID password are as follows:
Must contain at least one UPPER CASE letter
Must contain at least one lower case letter
Must contain at least one number and/or one special character (e.g. #,$,%, etc.) excluding spaces, @, quotes (") and commas
Between twelve (12) and 127 characters in length
Cannot contain any four consecutive characters of your NetID
Cannot contain spaces or any non-printable character
For passwords less than 16 characters in length: cannot contain any dictionary word longer than three characters in length
Cannot be a password you have used in the past three years
