How do I check my Google Apps @ Illinois on my device running Android OS?

There are multiple ways to configure your Android device to connect to Google Apps @ Illinois:



As a Gmail account:

  • Go to Setup
  • Add account
  • Google or Gmail or Google Apps (it varies)
  • Your username: yournetid@illinois.edu
  • It should take you to a Shibboleth login page
  • Enter in your email password

As an IMAP or Other account:
  • Your username: yournetid@illinois.edu
  • Your password: password you set in the Partner Services Password page (http://partnercomputing.illinois.edu/password)
  • Your email address: yournetid@illinois.edu
  • Your incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.gmail.com
  • Your outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
  • Use username and password for outgoing as well.
  • Your incoming mail settings: Authentication: Password Use Secure Socket Layers (SSL) Port 993
  • Your outgoing mail security settings: Authentication: Password Use TLS (if available) or SSL (if not) Port 465
