Networking, Wireless, Eduroam for Travelers Visiting the University of Illinois

What eduroam can do for you
If you're a member of another participating institution, you'll be able to connect to the Internet at the University of Illinois.
Use of eduroam on the University of Illinois campus is subject to Networking, Wireless, Local eduroam Policy .
If you plan to visit the University of Illinois from another eduroam participating institution, you're encouraged to configure eduroam on your device before you leave your home institution.
You'll be using your home institution's user name and password system to connect to eduroam, even if you receive an Illinois guest account.
Your Illinois guest account (if you have one) would apply to Illinois-specific networks like IllinoisNet Wireless, QuickConnect, and Walkup, not to the worldwide eduroam network.
If you need help with eduroam, contact your home institution's IT support department. They'll be able to tell you what user name and password to use and what security settings their authentication system requires.

eduroam is available wherever the IllinoisNet Wireless network is provided in Urbana-Champaign.
While you're connected to the eduroam wireless network at Illinois, your machine will be placed in an area that is separate from the main University of Illinois network. Therefore, there may be some Illinois-specific resources that are not available to you through eduroam.
Getting more access in the Urbana-Champaign area:
If, while in Urbana-Champaign, you require access to Illinois-specific resources that eduroam doesn't provide, you will need to use a guest account provided by the department or individual sponsoring your visit to the campus.
After receiving a guest account, you can use IllinoisNet Wireless, QuickConnect, and Walkup to connect to additional University of Illinois networked resources.
