Campus departments are responsible for reviewing all long distance charges billed to their accounts for accuracy. In addition, campus departments are responsible for ensuring long distance calls are in support of University business.
Technology Services offers toll free numbers to units who wish to provide toll free telephone access to their offices. The sponsoring unit pays usage charges of $0.07 per minute for calls placed to their toll free number from the United States and $0.14 per minute for calls placed from Canada. A service establishment fee of $70.00 applies to new numbers. Toll free numbers work in conjunction with University telephone numbers. If a new University telephone number is required, the standard connection fee and monthly rates also apply.
These rates apply to both legacy Centrex voice and Skype for Business / Lync toll-free service.
Interstate and intrastate calls will remain at $0.07 per minute. This rate applies to both legacy Centrex voice and Skype for Business / Lync long distance service.
International long distance rates vary based on the calling destination and the voice system used. On average, international long distance calls placed from Skype for Business / Lync are 50% less expensive than those placed from legacy Centrex lines.
The rates listed below are in effect when using a University landline telephone and placing a direct-dial call to a landline telephone in a foreign country.
Per minute rates listed are in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Rates may change at any time without prior notice.
