VPN, CISCO AnyConnect, Cisco Secure Client, The client service is not responding error message

When attempting to connect the following error is displayed: The AnyConnect client service is not responding. A VPN connection cannot be established. Contact your system administrator.
  • First, restart the computer and try to connect again.
  • If restarting does not resolve the error, please try uninstalling the AnyConnect (or Cisco Secure Client)  VPN client, then re-install it.
