ATLAS CMS - Adding an asset to website

Learn how to add an asset to your website using ATLAS CMS

What do we mean by asset?

An asset is a file that can be called upon and used throughout the content creation of your website.

To add an asset to our website - let's go straight to the Assets area of the ATLAS CMS.

select add asset

We can see that we haven't added any assets yet, so let's go ahead and hit the Upload Files options.

add files

Here, we've gone ahead and added three different file types - .png (image), .pdf, and .docx.

When we hit the Upload Files button, we can see our new assets in the Files table.

select view details

Now that we can see our new assets in the Files table, Let's go to "bart.png" and select the View File Details option.

add title to image

When we first view our metadata - we see that we can and should add title and alternate text to our image. Alternate text is an explanation of the image for the people using screen-readers to assist with a disability.

Description or Caption can be added but only if you desire.

After that information is added, let's take a look at an image preview before we hit Save.

save image

Since we've got our title and alternate text added and we can see the image display properly - let's hit Save to update our asset for later use.
