Information about how to request access and configure desktop.uillinois.edu for use.

desktop.uillinois.edu is a remote desktop service that allows university employees to access applications such as Banner, using a preconfigured Windows environment that meets all of the system requirements for using the university's Enterprise Applications.  The following software is installed and available for use:
  • Internet Explorer
  • Java
  • Adobe Reader
  • Microsoft Office
  • Firefox
  • Business Objects/Business Intelligence
  • Microsoft Lync
  • Microsoft Silverlight.

Getting access to desktop.uillinois.edu

System requirements and connection instructions

Accessing desktop.uillinois.edu requires:
  1. An existing connection to the University network, or central campus VPN connection
  2. A client program or operating system that supports the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).  Click here for a list of supported RDP clients.
  3. Your NetID and password, or UOFI windows credentials
