NetID Center, Customer steps after receiving password token

These are the steps to reset your password after receiving a password reset token. There are three options that are available to you when you visit the NetID Center. Please remember that as soon as you change your password you will need to also change any saved passwords on your desktop, laptop, or mobile device.

In order to perform the steps below, you must have received a password reset token by contacting the Tech Services Help Desk.  You can do this by emailing or calling 217-244-7000. Images below will guide you through the process.

1.  Recover the password token by the method you requested (text, email, or voice mail).

2.  Enter the token you received to proceed with Step 2.

3. If you are enrolled in two factor authentication (2FA) you will need to authenticate. If you do not have your authentication device, you must use a temporary passcode. To use this, you must receive your password reset token from the Help Desk.
