Security, Password Scramble while traveling
I just received notice that my password was scrambled due to it being compromised. I'm traveling right now and my account password was scrambled.
Technology Services Privacy & Security reset passwords any time they detect account behavior that fits a pattern of abuse.
Some suggestions to prevent your password being scrambled in the future:
- Use the CISCO Anyconnect client VPN. It is available in the Webstore. Do not use a 3rd party vendor VPN client, as it may not be supported.
- If you do decide to use a different VPN or a proxy server, avoid logging into University services.
- Do not share your credentials with anyone else (friends, family members, etc).
- Make sure you have your recovery options set at https://identity.uillinois.edu before you travel.
