Troubleshooting steps for Transparency Projectors in general assignment classrooms.

NOTE: Technology enhanced classrooms with ceiling mounted LCD projectors no longer have overhead transparency projectors. If the instructor needs a transparency projector, inform them that they can get one from Campus Surplus, but we will not be able to provide maintenance or storage. Campus Surplus is located at 1801 South Orchard Street, Urbana 61801 and they can be contacted at (217) 333-6011. If anyone has trouble with this process, recommend an individual training session to show them how to use the other equipment in the classroom.

  • To turn on the projector, press the On switch on the right side of the top of the transparency projector. The lights and fan should turn on. To focus it, turn the focus knob located either near or on the arm of the projector.

  • If the light doesn't turn on, open the switch bulb panel on the left side of the top of the projector and turn the switch to a different bulb. Make sure switch bulb panel is closed and that the glass lid is down.

  • Unplug the projector from the outlet and plug it into a different outlet. Turn it on.
