Email, Exchange, Outlook - Disable Outlook Apps
A feature of Exchange 2013 will display an option for "Bing Maps" if Outlook believes there is an address in the email message. The following image shows the option to click "Bing Maps" to display a map of the location included in the text of the email. This map will drop down and be displayed in Outlook just above the email message.
In Exchange 2013, apps for Outlook are now available and the Bing Maps add-in is enabled by default. These instructions detail how to disable any add-ins, including Bing Maps.
To disable Outlook Apps such as the Bing Maps add-in, follow the steps below.
- Open Outlook.
- Click File and then click "Manage Add-ins" to open Outlook Web Access (OWA).
- In your web browser, log in to OWA, when prompted.
- Select the Add-in (e.g. Bing Maps) that you would like to disable and then click the “Disable” link.
- You can close OWA.
