Security, Reporting Lost or Stolen Electronic Devices

My laptop or personal electronic device is lost or has been stolen. What procedures should I take to report that it is lost or stolen?

In the event a computer is stolen, Technology Services can use the information provided to track the computer if it is connected to the campus network.

As a matter of campus policy we ask that you contact campus police FIRST to file a police report before contacting the Technology Services Help Desk.

When we receive a Stolen Electronic Device Recovery Aid form from UIPD, please forward these to security@illinois.edu.
