ClassTech, Troubleshooting, Laptop Refresh Rate

Assist customers with setting their refresh rate to eliminate issues with AV system display such as discoloration (pink/purple hue).

Mac: 

  1. Make sure that the instructor's laptop is connected to the AV system before following these steps.
  2. Select the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the desktop and select System Preferences from the drop down.

  3. Select Displays.

    Select the Displays icon which is the second icon in the second row on this menu

  4. On the Display tab, select the Refresh Rate drop down menu.

  5. We generally suggest a refresh rate of 60hz, but if the instructor's laptop is not displaying correctly on that refresh rate, try options that are higher or lower to get the laptop to display properly.

Windows 10 and 11

  1. Make sure that the instructor's laptop is connected to the AV system before following these steps.
  2. Open the Windows start menu and go to Settings -> System -> Displays -> Advanced Display Settings
  3. Select the Screen refresh rate drop down menu. We generally suggest a refresh rate of 60hz, but if the instructor's laptop is not displaying correctly on that refresh rate, try options that are higher or lower to get the laptop to display properly.
