Learn@Illinois Moodle - Extending Deadlines or Time Limits for Activities

Adding student overrides can be useful for instructors who need to provide individual students with different permissions within a quiz. For example, some students may require extra time or may need additional attempts.

Note: User overrides are available for quizzes, lessons, and assignments.

To add a student override to a quiz:

  1. Select the quiz, lesson, or activity that needs to be changed.

  2. In the Administration block under “Quiz administration” click User overrides.

  3. Click Add user override.

  4. Choose a student.

  5. Using the options below, change the due date, allow more time, allow more attempts, and/or require a password (depending on the needs of the student).

Note: Options will vary between the activities.
  6. Click Save.
