This document provides instructions on how to tell if your computer (Windows or Mac) is managed by Technology Services at FAA.

Actions

Windows

Windows 7 Users can determine if they are managed or not by doing the following:

  1. Click the "Start" button.
  2. Click on "Control Panel".
  3. Change "View By" from "Category" to "Small Icons".

  4. Locate "Configuration Manager" on the list.

    If Configuration Manager is not present, then your computer is not managed by Technology Services at FAA. If you would like it to be, please open a Help Request and we will assist you.

Mac OS

If you are running Mac OS X, please do the following to see if your computer is managed by Technology Services at FAA or not:

  1. Click on Finder on the Dock to make sure it is the active application ("Finder" should appear next to the Apple in the upper-left corner of your screen).

  2. Go to the Applications directory and then into the Utilities directory.

  3. If "Managed Software Update" is present, your computer is managed by Technology Services at FAA. Note that you can run "Managed Software Update" to tell your computer to check for available updates, which you can then install or postpone as desired. If "Managed Software Update" is not present, then your computer is not managed by Technology Services at FAA. If you would like it to be, please open a Help Request and we will assist you.
