RightFax, Centrex, Dialing Pattern for Faxes

This is a document to outline dialing patterns to use when using RightFax and/or from a fax machine connected to a Centrex line. It is for the use of the Technology Services Help Desk

Dialing instructions for use with RightFax and Centrex (different instructions if using RightFax rather than Centrex)

RightFax Instructions:  You do NOT need to dial "1" if using RightFax to call long distance.  However, you do need to dial the 10 digit telephone number.  For dialing international long distance, you need to dial 011 plus country code, city code and local telephone number.

Centrex Instructions: Centrex still requires dialing "9" whereas RightFax does not.  Also, Centrex requires the user to dial the "1" for calling long distance.  Therefore, the user would dial (for example) 9-1-123-4567.  For dialing international long distance, you need to dial 9-1-011 plus country code, city code and local telephone number.
