Configure and use Remote Control

Remote Control allows IT Pros to view and control a Microsoft Windows session, regardless of whether a user is logged in or not.  Connect to the endpoint with Remote Control when you need to assist a user while they are logged in.  Remote Control is available when the endpoint is connected to a campus network (including the VPN).

  1. Configure Remote Control client settings for your unit as per the following articles, and deploy the client settings to the relevant device collection

  2. Follow this guide to launch Remote Control

  3. To only view the endpoint's first screen, navigate to View --> Display --> First Screen

  4. Once you are connected to the endpoint, use the Action tab to lock out the remote keyboard and mouse
    • Note that users are able to see the Remote Control session from their end

  5. To disconnect the Remote Control session and leave the user's session as-is, close the Remote Control Viewer window or select File --> Disconnect
