ACCC Staff Machines - Hardware Standards

Provides information on machines provided to ACCC Staff

By default, all staff will be provided with one University-owned computer to be used for their business functions. For all staff that routinely participate in meetings or site-based work away from their desk, a laptop computer will be provided. For all other staff, a desktop computer will be provided.

Laptop:

Typically deployed with the following:

  • Two monitors (2560 x 1440 resolution)
  • Wireless Keyboard & Mouse
  • Dock for connection with the above
  • (Apple only) Necessary adapters to connect to ethernet and HDMI

Desktop:

Typically deployed with the following:

  • Secondary monitor (1920 x 1080 resolution for Windows, 2560 x 1440 for Apple)

Customization Options

The above configurations can be customized as follows. Changes that result in an increased cost require business need justification. Please note that customization can significantly impact lead-time for the selected device, up to several weeks.

  • Apple laptop:
    • Substitution to MacBook Pro 13", with 2.7/4.5 GHz i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD (Savings of $120)
    • Substitute Magic Mouse 2 in place of Magic Trackpad (Savings of $50)
    • Increase CPU to 2.9/4.8 GHz i9 (Increase of $350)

  • Windows laptop:
    • Substitution to Lenovo T580 15" with 1.9/4.2 GHz i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD (Savings of approx. $700)
    • Substitution to Microsoft ergonomic keyboard (Increase of approx. $35)
  • Apple desktop:
    • Substitution to iMac 27", with 4.2/4.5 GHz i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 2TB Fusion Drive (Increase of $670)
    • Substitute Magic Trackpad in place of Magic Mouse 2 (Increase of $50)
