Why is there extra text/weird formatting when I send a Blackboard Announcement, although it looks fine before sending?
Often when pasting into Blackboard text retains the formatting from Microsoft Word and requires some steps to correct it.
If text was copied and pasted from Word, sometimes a lot of extra text can end up in the Announcement, even though it looks normal to you before sending. This is a known problem in Blackboard
There are two workarounds.
1. Instead of using MS Word, try using a basic text editing program such as Notepad ( for PC) , or Textedit ( for Mac) .
2. After copying and pasting the text from MS Word into your new announcement, click on Remove Formatting from the expanded tool bar menu, just above the spell check button.
