Is Blackboard slow?

Blackboard may run slow sometime. This article describes how to identify the source of the slowness of the system.

Why Bb may be slow:

Application servers

Sometimes there is a particular Blackboard app server that is slow. Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help switch you over to a different app server. For an advanced explanation of clearing cookies/switching app servers, please see this brief video:

Using uic.blackboard.com may yield faster performance results.

Please be sure to use https://uic.blackboard.com as the direct URL for UIC Blackboard. The former address (blackboard.uic.edu) is still operable, but it is no longer our primary address.
